Herelocates a symbol of Guilin City: Elephant Trunk Hill. It gets the name becausethe hill looks like a drinking elephant. In this park you can see many smallelephant statues. But one of the most important things to do here is to take aphoto of the big “elephant.”
The case between the “leg” and the “trunk”of the Elephant Hill is called water moon cave. When you climb on the top ofthe hill, you will have a bird view of Guilin City.

Today we visited Reed Flute Cave, a uniquekarst cave in the northwest of Guilin City. The form of Reed Flute Cave can bedated back to about 1 million years ago. It was an underground lake here atthat time. Due to tectonic movements, the mountain was uplifted and the watertable dropped, turning the former underground lake into a cave. Rainwater, mixed with calcium carbonate from the mountain, seeped into the cave. Graduallymany exquisitely carved stalactites such as stonepillars, stone curtains, etc are formed in the cave. You can find birds, flowers, and lions, etc. in the cave. It’s a magnificent underground palacewith the colorful lights.
