In mid‑November 2025, my boyfriend and I set off on a journey to the southernmost province of China — Hainan Province — and explored the scenic and cultural charm of Lingshui. We flew for roughly three hours and landed at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, then continued our trip via high‑speed train to Lingshui.

Day 1 – November 16, 2025

Our first full day in Lingshui began at the beautiful seaside library, “Lingshui Li'an Library”. The library impressed us with its elegant architecture and abundant collection of books. We lingered for hours there — reading, relaxing — and the experience unexpectedly reminded us of those leisurely school‑days. After leaving the library, we explored the surrounding area. Lingshui County lies on the southeast coast of Hainan Island, with the South China Sea to the east and south, and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, coconut groves, and gently rolling hills. It enjoys a tropical climate and is known for its natural beauty — sea views, palm trees, and a laid‑back coastal vibe.

As dusk fell, we walked around to admire the coastal atmosphere. That first day set the tone for the rest of our sojourn: tranquil, refreshing, and subtly enchanting.

Day 2 – November 17, 2025

On November 17, we spent the day enjoying a relaxing visit to the Jianling Beach(尖岭). Because this area is somewhat remote and not directly connected by frequent public transport, we opted to take a Didi taxi for convenience. The ride allowed us to enjoy glimpses of coconut groves and coastal hills along the way, adding to the sense of a tropical retreat. We each drank a coconut, sat by the sea, chatted idly, and spent a leisurely afternoon. Afterwards, we took a DiDi taxi back. 

Day 3 – November 18, 2025

On November 18, we visited Boundary Island (分界洲岛)— an island-resort off the southeast coast of Hainan that lies between Lingshui County and Wanning City. It serves as a natural boundary between two different climates, cultures, and administrative regions. The island is renowned for its pristine environment, featuring soft white sands, clear blue waters, and a rich underwater landscape, making it a popular tourist destination.

We spent several hours on Boundary Island, immersing ourselves in its beauty. The waters around the island were clear. The waves around the island were notably strong, adding an exhilarating touch to the scene. 

Day 4 – November 19, 2025

We checked into the Aloha Hotel in Qingshui Bay, Lingshui, which is a seaside resort. The hotel is fully equipped and clean. Opening the balcony door revealed a stunning view of the ocean, and the sight was absolutely beautiful. The hotel’s breakfast had a wide variety, and the food tasted great. The hotel grounds also feature a petting zoo and a swimming pool, making it ideal for families traveling with children. It’s conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the beach, which made it very easy for us to head straight to the shore whenever we wanted.

For dinner, we tried a local specialty, herb-flavored duck (香草鸭). The duck was served in a rich, dark brown sauce, with tender duck pieces, and garnished with fresh lemongrass. The air was filled with a wonderful mix of savory meat and aromatic spices. The duck was perfectly cooked, tender with a delicious balance of salty and fresh lemongrass flavor. It was a delightful meal and a great way to experience local Hainan cuisine. 

Day 5 – November 20, 2025

Today, we checked into the Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay, located along the beautiful Sanya Bay. The hotel grounds are spacious and well-landscaped, offering beautiful views and a variety of facilities, including a fitness center and a swimming pool.

In the afternoon, we proceeded to Yemeng Gallery(椰梦长廊) to enjoy the sunset. This scenic spot along the coastline is known for its tranquil atmosphere and lovely views of the sea, making it the perfect place to relax and reflect on the trip. In the evening, we returned to the hotel and ordered some local takeaway for dinner, enjoying a cozy and peaceful end to our Hainan adventure.

The following day, we took a flight back to Zhengzhou. It was a truly relaxing and wonderful trip.
