Air Quality In China Continue To Improve

In the first three quarters of this year, the overall air quality in China continued to improve. On October 22nd, at a press conference held in Beijing, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Pei Xiaofei, stated that the average concentrations of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), inhalable particulate matter (PM10), ozone, and nitrogen dioxide in the 339 prefecture-level and above cities nationwide have decreased year-on-year. Among them, the average concentration of PM2.5 was 27 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%. The average proportion of days with good air quality in the 339 prefecture-level and above cities was 85.8%, a year-on-year increase of 1.6 percentage points; the average proportion of days with heavy and above pollution was 1.1%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7 percentage points.
