From January to July 2025, China’s renewable energy installed capacity achieved steady growth, with 283 million kilowatts of new installations added during the period. The total installed capacity reached 2.171 billion kilowatts, accounting for nearly 60% of the country's total installed power capacity. In terms of power generation, renewable energy output totaled 2.18 trillion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%. This figure approached 40% of the nation's total electricity generation and exceeded the combined electricity consumption of the tertiary industry and residential households during the same period. Notably, wind and solar power generation reached 1.36 trillion kilowatt-hours, representing 24.9% of the country’s total power generation. The meeting emphasized that renewable energy is playing an increasingly vital role in ensuring energy supply and promoting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
