On May 27, 2025, we posted a news piece about the opening of Beijing Zhonghai Daji Xiang: Explore, Relax, and Admire Ancient Architecture! A New Landmark in Beijing's Second Ring Opens! Direct Access via Subway Lines 4 and 7.

Since then, I've visited it several times, and I can honestly say I really like it—it's a place I'd happily recommend to anyone visiting Beijing.

You can find just about everything here: curated apparel, footwear, and accessories; cultural and creative handicrafts; all kinds of small items and toys; electronics like phones and computers; regional Chinese cuisines; international food; a wide variety of drinks; bars and cafés; bakeries; hair salons and beauty services; supermarkets; parks, and more.

It preserves cultural heritage courtyards such as the former residence of Kang Youwei, and hosts permanent art exhibitions and intangible cultural heritage performances, allowing visitors to explore historical architecture while shopping.

I fully agree it is an integrated complex combining "urban cultural living room, citizens' leisure square, commercial complex, and ecological building cluster."

If you have some extra time after seeing Beijing’s highlights, this one‑of‑a‑kind complex with Beijing character is worth a visit.

Here are the pictures from my visits:
